Organic Food

What does “organic” mean?

The word “organic” refers to practices that farmers use to grow and process agricultural products. Organic farming methods use 100% natural ingredients and the food is grown without the use of any kind of toxic chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modifies organisms (GMOs), preservatives and additives. Before a product can be labelled “organic,” a Government-approved certifier inspects the farm where the food is grown to make sure the farmer is following all the rules necessary to meet National Standards for Organic Products. By choosing organic food, you support farmers, producers and local communities as well as lower the risk of consumption of growth hormones and pesticides, which can have a negative effect on your body.
